A couple in Michigan woke up in shock on Tuesday morning, after a woman broke into their house in the early hours and snuck into their bed.

The couple, who live in the Quincy Township in Houghton County, told investigators that the 22-year-old woman climbed into their bed at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday and refused to leave.

The woman, from Jonesville, seemed to be inebriated, believing it was her own home.

Police said the husband and wife managed to force her out of their Maple Road house without using the gun they had in the home. The 22-year-old, who has not been identified by police, then drove away in her car.

The married couple then described her to police, before troopers found her by the side of the Wildwood Road close to N Ray Quincy Road. Police arrested her for home invasion and drunken disorderly conduct.

She told police she did not remember going into the home.

The Liberty Buzz has contacted Michigan State Police for further comment.

In a similar event, on the morning of 10 April, a woman broke into a home in Interlachen, Florida, where three children were sleeping and helped herself to coffee and eggs.

In a Facebook post, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the home on Saturday morning after the homeowner said a woman broke into her house and was drinking coffee.

The homeowner had gone to work, leaving her three children aged 16, 10 and 7 asleep, the post said. When the 16-year-old woke up, she called her mother at around 9 a.m. and told her there was a woman standing in the kitchen. The mom told stranger Wendy Kaufman to leave after returned from work and found her drinking coffee and eating eggs for breakfast. Kaufman refused to leave so the mother called the police, who arrested the intruder.

Another similar home invasion occurred in September 2019, when a woman in Utah was arrested after breaking into another woman’s house and staring at her when she woke up from her sleep.

The victim also woke up at around 2 a.m. When she turned her light on, she found a woman standing over her and staring at her.

Tyra Jones, 27, was sent to Grand County Jail in Moab, on suspicion of burglary, after the woman attempted to get her to leave and called the police.
