The Fayetteville Observer Columnist Lauds Richard Hudson’s Efforts For The Environment

Recently, Myron B. Pitts, a columnist for The Fayetteville Observer lauded North Carolina’s Republican congressman Richard Hudson for his efforts to help solve some of the country’s most pressing environmental issues.

“North Carolina might just be ahead of the curve; conservatives here have always been strong stewards of the environment,” Pitts stated in his article

“That means we have to work together to fight climate — which we know all-too-well given our vulnerability to rising sea levels, drought, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes and winter ice storms that we are not equipped to manage,” Pitts added.

Along with his fellow GOP leaders, Hudson is a member of the Conservative Climate Caucus, which was formed to provide solutions to curb climate change by supporting renewable energy and reducing carbon footprint, among others. The move received commendation from Pitts.

“Representative Hudson and the other Congressional members of this climate caucus clearly share the concerns of their home districts and know that we can be part of the solution. But they also recognize that climate change is too big for us to solve alone – too big for even America to solve alone. Eight-five percent of all greenhouse gas emissions come from somewhere other than the U.S.,” Pitts continued.

Pitts also took a jab at America’s left-wing leaders for their impractical ideas that could not only destroy the environment further, but also hurt our rebounding economy.

“When politicians on the left talk about “solutions” they are often talking about policies that push our jobs overseas to countries where emissions and pollution are not a concern. So overall emissions will go up instead of down, and we’ll have fewer jobs here at home. Why would anyone think that could be good for America or for the planet? It just doesn’t add up,” Pitts said.

For Richard Hudson, the next generation deserves a much better world and it is our role to improve it before we leave it to them. He believes in more practical, common sense solutions in dealing with a global problem like climate change.

“As an avid outdoorsman and dad, I believe we have a responsibility to protect our environment and leave our community better than we found it. This is critical to preserving our quality of life for future generations,” Hudson stated in his official website.

“As your Congressman and a member of the Conservative Climate Caucus, as well as a member of the House Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee, I will continue advancing solutions that strengthen our economy and improve our environment,” Hudson added.
