Texas Police Officer Hospitalized After Being Shot During Traffic Stop

A police officer in a suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, has been hospitalized after being shot multiple times during a traffic stop, with the suspects still at large.

The Burleson Police Department tweeted that the officer had stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Hillside Drive in Burleson at around 4.15 a.m. on Wednesday.

“During the traffic stop the officer was shot multiple times,” police said.

The officer was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, police added, and details about his condition were unknown.

“Suspects in the officer shooting have not been apprehended,” police added in another tweet.

“Police are canvassing the area. If you know any information or see anything suspicious please contact 911.”
