NY Democrat Challenging Elise Stefanik Represented China’s Propaganda Arm

Last month, left-wing Democrat Matthew Putorti announced that he will be challenging House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, for New York’s 21st Congressional District. As soon as he released an announcement video, Putorti immediately raised a huge sum of money for his campaign. Unfortunately, not many people know about the commercial litigator and his connection to the Chinese Communist Party.

Back in 2019, Putorti was chosen to represent China Daily, a state-owned propaganda news arm, in a copyright complaint filed by an American photojournalist. This was discovered after the Washington Free Beacon acquired some documents showing that Putorti, as an attorney for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, filed a number of legal motions for the aforementioned communist propaganda instrument.

“What is troubling is that some respected American publications are taking money from the CCP to run China Daily inserts that are not clearly labeled as Chinese government propaganda. If American readers knew the source of their news was taking money from a genocidal regime, they might opt to boycott that source,” Ian Easton, a senior director at the Project 2049 Institute, said in an interview with the Washington Free Beacon.

The communists in Beijing have been utilizing China Daily to spread a variety of lies to the public, including false claims that they own the West Philippine Sea, in spite of a ruling by the Hague tribunal that the Filipinos have the rights to one of the most prominent bodies of water on the planet. The Chinese government has also been using the news arm to flaunt their fake achievements in the mainland, while destroying the reputation of Hong Kong and Taiwan activists who are fighting to sever the leash from communist rule.

The most prominent stories that the CCP has been peddling on the propaganda outlet are the dishonest information about the genocide of the Uyghur minorties. They have claimed that the helpless Uyghur Muslims are spreading extremism and that their forced sterilization was necessary for the nation. More than a million Uyghurs are held captive in labor camps in Xinjiang, where they are also brainwashed, raped and tortured by the tyrannical state.

In an interview with WWNYTV, Elise Stefanik’s senior adviser Alex Degrasse also divulged the causes that Putorti has been supporting.

“Voters will immediately learn that New York City Far Left lawyer Matt Putorti supported and donated to radical Socialist Squad Members of Congress who support defunding the police, trillions in new taxes, open borders, and gun bans,” Degrasse said.
