“the Demon” Bray Wyatt Wins The Wwe Championship Universal Crown Jewel

Bray Wyatt’s “The Fiend” became the new Universal Champion after defeating Seth Rollins at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.

Following weeks of build – and one disappointing finish at Hell in a Cell – Wyatt took out Rollins after a long, drawn out fight in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Similar to their bout at Hell in a Cell, “The Fiend” would absorb table spots, sledgehammer shots and multiple Stomps. This time, Wyatt took eight of Rollins’ finisher before being Superkicked off the stage.

Sparks flew from the rubble that Wyatt fell into and there was even flames coming out. This caused Rollins to look into the rubble when a spark blinded Seth before “The Fiend” emerged from to hit the Mandible Claw and then the Sister Abigail for the victory.

Wyatt’s Universal Championship victory comes almost six months after he debuted his character change as a creepy kids show host. This title shot comes just two months after Wyatt made his in-ring debut as “The Fiend” against Finn Balor at SummerSlam in August.

The match with Seth Rollins was set up after the Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento – where Hell in a Cell is taking place – put out an advertisement for the event that states The Fiend will challenge either Rollins or Strowman for the Universal Championship.

Wyatt would reference this on an episode of Firefly Fun House, with the devil Vince puppet returning to scold Bray for making the match without telling anyone.

Since his victory against Balor, Wyatt would continue to terrorize WWE Legends and the Universal Champion, Seth Rollins. Wyatt’s fascination with Rollins is unclear, but Seth does have a history with Bray when they were both a part of the Shield and the Wyatt family, respectively. In the weeks leading up to their match, Wyatt says he and “The Fiend” may actually be trying to protect the Universal Champion from attacks.

Of course, “The Fiend” has popped up in back-to-back episodes of WWE television to terrorize and attack Rollins before RAW and SmackDown went off the air.
