Desantis Mandates Florida Schools To Teach About The ‘Evils Of Communism’

Florida is one of the GOP-led states that is putting efforts to curb the spread of a more deadly virus that aims to slowly devour the freedom-loving ideals of the American youth. That virus is called communism and the threat of it seeping into our children’s textbooks is real. It is not too late however, and there is so much hope that we as a nation can prevent its further proliferation.

Recently, at an afternoon news briefing in Fort Myers, Florida governor Ron DeSantis  announced a set of new state programs that will teach students about the evils of communism, through civics and patriotism education. Mandatory CPR training will also be included, in order to prepare our youth for emergencies that will require the aforementioned life-saving skills.

“Once students graduate high school, some will go to college, some of them will do other things…whatever you do, this civics is gonna be relevant because you are going to be a citizen,” DeSantis said

“We have a number of people in Florida, particularly southern Florida, who’ve escaped totalitarian regimes, who’ve escaped communist dictatorships, to be able to come to America. We want all students to understand, why would somebody flee across shark-infested water, to come to southern Florida? Why would somebody leave a place like Vietnam? Why would people leave these countries to risk their lives to be able to come here,” DeSantis continued.

“You have orthodoxies that are promoted, and other viewpoints are shunned or even suppressed,” he said. “We don’t want that in Florida – you need to have a true contest of ideas. Students should not be shielded from ideas, and we want robust First Amendment speech on our college and university campuses,” DeSantis added.

The Sunshine State has been very active in instilling American values and fighting extreme progressive ideologies this year. The local government led by DeSantis knows that focusing on the youth and their education is the more effective method in fixing things in this country.

Early this month, Florida’s Board of Education made sure that Critical Race Theory (CRT),  the 1619 Project and Holocaust denialism will be banned in public schools.

Ana Bouza, a former Nicaraguan who escaped the oppressive claws of the Sandinista Rebels and the socialist regime in Venezuela, was also present at the briefing at Fort Myers to share her experiences in dealing with the spectre of communism.

“I was president of the school government, and they were trying to brainwash us into thinking that they were bringing benefits and well-being to the people. Obviously not. Right now, that country, the one that I was born in, is even worse than the day that I left. So I’m thankful to be here. I would defend this country (the U.S.), with my life if I had to,” Bouza stated.
