A website is now offering personalized messages from Bernie Sanders’ iconic inauguration mittens.

Cameo, which connects fans with performers and personalities via recorded clips and live chats, has expanded its pool of political talent.

Alongside Sarah Palin and Rod Blagojevich, people can now request a spoof message intended to be from the Vermont senator’s eye-catching gloves.

Alongside a snap of the senator, the Cameo listing says: “Feel the Bern, not the Burn. A handwarming story from the needles of Vermont to the steps of the Capitol. Inauguration Day 2021.”

Preview clips reveal a similar pair of knitted mittens delivering various greetings, with the author mimicking Sanders’ thick accent.

The mittens so far have more than a dozen five-star reviews, with one recipient writing: “Hilarious and personal. You hit the perfecta ‘Bernie’. Well done sir!”

Another fan wrote: “Wow! This is amazing. Thank you so much. Hilarious and just way better than I was expecting.”

While a third commented: “The best sets of mittens on Cameo.”

And another happy customer added: “Thank you Bernie’s Mittens for the excellent birthday message! My son loved it! We’re sending the muffled sound of hand claps (due to our mittens) your way! Highly recommend. Thanks again!”

The 79-year-old’s fashion choice for President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Capitol Hill, on January 20 2021, spawned numerous memes.

A Twitter account was even set up dedicated to the mittens, as well as a line of unofficial merchandise.

Such was the interest in Sanders’ outfit, Gayle King quizzed Sanders over the brown, patterned gloves during a CBS interview.

Sanders explained: “In Vermont we dress warm, we know something about the cold. And we’re not so concerned about good fashion. We want to keep warm. And that’s what I did today.”

The mittens were made by Vermont teacher Jen Ellis, and gifted to Sanders a few years ago.

Ellis tweeted about the mittens the day after the inauguration, saying: “I made Bernie’s mittens as a gift a couple years ago. They are made from repurposed wool sweaters and lined with fleece (made from recycled plastic bottles).”

Sanders was previously spotted wearing them while campaigning in December 2019, and to a women’s March in New Hampshire in January 2020.

But interest in his hand accessories boomed after President Biden’s inauguration, with the mittens even catching the attention of fashion director and chief fashion critic for The New York Times, Vanessa Friedman.

She tweeted: “In all the inauguration fashion news, let us not overlook Senator Bernie Sanders’ mittens.”
